Arthur L. Benne, 87, of St. Charles, died Wednesday (Feb. 23, 2005) at Parkside Meadows Retirement Community in St. Charles.
Mr. Benne was a self-employed farmer in Black Walnut.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Orchard Farm.
Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Baue Funeral Home, 620 Jefferson Street, St. Charles. An hour of visitation is scheduled before the noon funeral Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church, 4795 Highway 94 North. Burial will be at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Sixth Street and Boone's Lick Road, St. Charles.
Among the survivors are two sons, Ronald Benne of Marble Hill and Roy Benne of St. Charles; a daughter, Sharon Demien of New Melle; a sister, Ruth Ebeling of St. Charles; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Benne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was President of Congregation. He was on the Board of Education and a Trustee, Elder and Treasurer of the Board. He also served on the Cemetery Board.

Arthur L. Benne, 87, of St. Charles died Feb. 23, 2005, at Parkside Meadows. He was born July 4, 1917, to William H. and Eleonora (Schumpe) Benne in St. Charles.
He was president of the congregation of Trinity Lutheran Church and served as a trustee, elder and board treasurer. He also served on the cemetery board.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon Demien of New Melle; two sons, Ronald of Marble Hill and Roy of St. Charles; one sister, Ruth Ebeling of St. Charles; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Benne; his parents; and one brother, Walter.
Services were Feb. 26 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Orchard Farm with burial in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in St. Charles.
